Estimation Process

  • When this method is selected, users will vote using the numbers from 1 to 10 as options.

  • During voting, these numbers will be presented in the voting pad.

  • The results will show the distribution of votes across these values.

General Purpose

The linear method provides a simple and straightforward way to estimate effort or complexity on a consistent, numerical method. It's often used when tasks are relatively well-understood and the differences in size are perceived as evenly distributed.

Correlation with Story Points

Linear method directly correlates the voted value with story points (e.g., a vote of 5 equals 5 story points).
